Capping Ceremony later today. Then on Monday it's back to normal school activities. Haayy...

I'm nervous about my shoes ^-^0

Alam ko mali binili ko, but then they're soooo more comfortable than the ones that look like the one they told us to buy and walang available sa size ko, either they're too big or too small for me. Gah, I'll quit rationalizing and just see what'll happen later. 'Wag sana akong pagawan ng IR -_-0

Have to say, that Christian Bale makes a pretty decent Bruce Wayne/Batman ^_^
 Posted by Hello

Watched the movie, Batman Begins yesterday (yes, on my own. Ppl, you gotta get over the fact that I like and can watch at movie theaters on my own, okay?) and it was pretty fine ^^

I still keep remembering that scene in Justice League Unlimited though where the Bats was free-falling and needing rescue from his flight-gifted comrades though he refused to sound even just a tad bit panicky about the imminent threat of his going splat on the ground... la lang, I kept having flashes of that scene from the cartoons while I was watching the movie kasi.

Anyways, it was pretty cool. Though the main theme of the movie was fear, and all the aspects of it; its advantages and disadvantages so to speak. Well, it IS Batman we’re talking about. The guy fairly reeks intimidation when he enters. Plus the movie deals with all the angst about his parent’s death and why he decided to become the beloved-stoic caped-crusader and dark knight we all so love.

The only thing I can really gripe about is the rating: PG3?! Jeez... considering all the gooeyly-nice darkness of it yun lang ang rating? Kids shouldn't really be exposed to all those fight scenes and yadda yadda... I know they're trying to get more people to watch but really!

Having said all of that, I must say that I'd recommend people to watch it.

Hahaha! So true! Especially the “You are a great listener - and an agreeable companion when you're in a good mood!” part! Hahaha! Sobrang tama hehehe... no wonder I like Shigure Sohma so much. He kinda reminds me of me mwehehehe...

Your IQ Is 110

Your Logical Intelligence is Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius

Your General Knowledge is Above Average

So I’m not very logical, I knew that. Heheh, nice score on the verbal and math?! Me? Math? Exceptional in math? Is this a joke?

Total number of books owned:
I have a LOT... dunno how many, at least 500 siguro? Which reminds me, I better finish updating my inventory soon coz I’m missing some books and I don’t remember who borrowed which anymore...

The last book I bought:
Bought them all in the same day so... :

Stedman’s “Medical Dictionary for the Health Professions and Nursing” and

Handbook of Diseases (2nd Ed.) by Springhouse --> They’re not required textbooks for school, just need the reference for whenever I need to write SOAPIE, NCP and PA/NA. Makes the task a hell of a lot easier. Still need to buy copy of Medical-Surgical Nursing though.

Dune: The Battle of Corrin by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson --> still have to finish reading this. Dinala-dala ko pa to during our retreat sa Tagaytay, only got to finish around half of the book coz my classmates kept talking to me whenever I tried to read it. Heheh, tell you all about the retreat on a diff post.

Remembrance by Jude Deveraux --> my 2nd time to buy this title coz my first copy got lost or someone borrowed it and never gave it back. I really liked the bit about Cally and Talis, makes me cry whenever I read that part of the story. La lang.

The last book I read:
Boku no Chikyuu o Mamotte (Please Save My Earth) Volume 1 by Saki Hiwatari --> requested my dad to buy me this series, so yes it’s in Japanese, and yes half the time I need a dictionary to understand what the hell the characters are saying, but since I know the general plot it isn’t that hard to understand ^_^

Five books that mean a lot to me that I really liked:
More like series really...

- Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, Imadoki!, Epoturansu Mai, Alice 19, Zettai Kareshi (virtually any manga titles) by Yuu Watase --> coz I like her style of drawing and she made Tasuki, what else can I say? I fricking worship that bandit ^_^

- Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan --> one character actually made me buy all of the books just so I’d know what’ll happen to him: Matrim Cauthon ^_^

- Vampire Chronicles (well, most of them anyway) by Anne Rice --> never mind the yaoi-ness of it all, I liked Lestat and the gang of vampires. I’m missing my Queen of the Damned copy though... last I remember is that Seika borrowed it but I still don’t have it around and she said it’s not with her anymore so I guess I better buy another copy just to complete ‘em series. Well, will do so pag nagkapera na ko for that. Don’t really wanna buy another copy of a book I don’t plan to read again any time soon.

- Shannara Trilogy by Terry Brooks --> coz this started me on the fantasy/adventure genre

- Sweet Valley Twins series by Francine Pascal --> I really liked these books when I was in umn, 4th grade? I have these books to thank for starting my love affair with reading.

Tag 5 people and have them fill this out in their blogs:
Whoever wants to na lang.

Okay, been a rather busy two weeks for me. First the enrollment, which is as usual a great hassle every semester since we have to submit CBC, F/A, U/A, chest XRAY, drug test, pregnancy test and a “essentially normal” findings for our medical examination. Never mind the seemingly unending lines at school just to get our class scheds and pay the tuition...

June 6, 7 and 8 found me at Tagaytay for our retreat. It’s supposedly for our upcoming “Capping”. Guess it is a bit of a big deal and such; means we’ll have more responsibilities in the future, especially in the upcoming semester when we’ll really have 8 hour duties at whichever hospital we’ll get assigned to. We’ll be handling more patients etc... the retreat was supposed to get us ready.

I was stupid enough to forget to bring my camera so I’ll just get recopies from my classmates when school starts. Ang ganda nung retreat house na pinagstay-an namin. It was so peaceful and quiet, and cold, and the food was really good, and everything was just so nice. I’ll tell you guys more about it when I get some pix.

Got sick when I got home. Migraine from lack of sleep and constipation from well, do I really need to elaborate on that? Slept 90% of the next day (June 9) and only felt sane and human enough the afternoon of the next day.

Went to school on the 10th to finish paying for the enrollment but then the business office was closed coz the school employees were having a recollection. Went home to clean my room – you know, get rid of the excess papers, store some school stuff I wouldn’t need for the upcoming sem, and up and got myself in the midst of updating my books inventory.

Got as far as checking the condition of around 390 books of different genre, got interrupted coz we had to leave early for our trip to Manaoag (June 11). We left at around 4 (me, my mom, Tita Betty, Kuya Tan, Tito Toto, Peter and Kuya Morris). Slept in the van while they talked. We arrived at Manaoag at around 1030am, heard mass, prayed to the Virgin Mary of Manaoag, ate lunch, and left for home.

We just got back (it’s around 6:30pm now), and I am dead tired!!! And I need to finish my book inventory pa, eto't nakakalat sa floor ng room ko lahat ng mga books ko, as in LAHAT! Since I've been collecting books since I was in grade 4, you can imagine just how big a mess my poor room is in right now... wahhh...

Ana-nechan! Gomen, I asked my mom if you could go pero she didn’t agree coz naplano na nga nila ni tita yung trip to Manaoag for the weekend. Sabi niya how bout another weekend na lang daw? Malapit na fiesta samin, kaso nga lang yung mismong fiesta is on a school day, pero if you want punta kayo dito ng weekend or something??? Gomen I didn’t get to text, my cell ran out of batt nung asa tagaytay ako and things got a bit hassled I totally forgot to text. Honto ni gomenasai !_!

Quarter Life Crisis

An exerpt from the post Emski sent in the ML about Quarter Life Crisis said:

"Each one of us have gone or will go through this stage. It is normal so don't worry. I encourage you to find your direction and your passion in life first before settling down permanently. Trust in yourselves, have patience, and trust that eventually, you will find your direction. A fresh new start per day. Time to take the next stage in life."

I'm 24, and according to the article, by 25 (mere months from now) I'll be right smack in the middle of QLC. But I think I already surpassed that critical stage back in 2002. That year was probably the lowest of the low years for me, but I can also say that I'm glad I went through it coz it became a major turning point for me.

I feel strangely at peace with myself. True I feel really tired most of the time, but the tiredness I get from school and duty is the good kind of tiredness that doesn't erase the smile from my face. I wake up early the next morning with more than enough energy to face the new day. Sa totoo lang, I feel restless now that I have a whole week's vacation away from the toils of studying to be a nurse. I feel I shouldn't have the free time, that I should be at school or at the hospital with patients or something... I even caught myself trudging in front of the cabinet where I put my uniform to get one this morning, yung utak ko on autopilot na I have to dress up in the uniform I once so dreaded to wear. It just feels comfortable now, coz I have a goal, something I wanna reach that I know I can attain if I put out enough effort. I feel like my life's going somewhere. That I have a purpose.

So it saddens me to realize my friends aren't doing as great. Gals (alam nyo kung sino kayo!), I wanna just say that whatever you choose to do with your lives I'll be on all out support, just like you were with me way back on that low sad year. I can't ever express how important you are to me, and how utterly grateful I am for your being there when I needed the helping hands and willing-to-listen ears and open hearts. You're my sisters and I'll stick up for you whatever the case may be ^^

Okay, sobra ng mushy, tama na. Kasi naman, it's June again. Eight days na lang at 3rd anniv na nung araw na nag-AWOL ako hahaha ^^0 You know what I mean, ne An, Seiks, Ems? *wink* I much rather prefer to call that day my day of rebirth ^^
