Long post... pambawi heheh

Watching Spider-Man 2 rerun on HBO and couldn’t focus on the story. I kept thinking about certain… well, details. Like:

1) if Peter Parker wears the spider suit inside his street clothes, how does he pee when he’s at any public toilets? It certainly doesn’t look like the suit has any seam or opening for him to be able to just whip it out to micturate. Does that mean he has to remove all that spandex just to pee?

2) how long do those webs of his last? If he uses them as a sort of transportation to swing from one building to another, if those webs didn’t disintegrate within a few days or weeks or even months time, then New York must be having a pretty serious problem about cleaning those up, coz I really don’t see spider-man cleaning up after himself in that way.

3) all that web he uses, where does it come from? What are its components? I’m thinking some sort of protein, so Parker’s food bill must be humongous, right? He needs to be able to eat a lot so he’d have something to use up for the making of those webs, right? From the movie’s plot, it didn’t seem like Peter had a lot of money to buy food; could it be that another reason why he lost his powers was that he was starving?

4) Mary jane’s boyfriends all have cleft chins, heheheh… guess if a guy’s jaw area is the only clue you have as to his identity, it’s not that surprising she’d go out with men who had the same appearance in that department, right?

Oh and speaking of movies, went to watch “V For Vendetta” and actually liked it. It has a pretty simple premise, that ideas are powerful and that they don’t die; and that one person has the ability to change the world for the better and the truly noble and heroic people are those who’d still continue to fight for their ideas even at the cost of everything they personally held dear. I particularly liked that scene when everyone in the city went out and donned that mask to march to the parliament building. It’s nothing original really; there have been a lot of stories that used that kind of scene; when the common people finally stood up for their rights and as one supported what was righteous… it’s a powerful scene, reminiscent of our own EDSA I when the spirit of EDSA I hasn’t been trampled upon and killed by our own politicians’ power-mongering antics. Anyways, I liked that scene, at the end, just before the fireworks came out. It was a “goose bumps” moment. (Guids, you know what I mean, we chatted about that.)

I stopped reading George R.R. Martin’s "A Feast for Crows" some months ago coz I kept getting surprised that this or that thing happened to some of the characters and I no longer remembered reading that those things did happen to them; so I decided to reread all books 1 to 3 but didn’t get to finish them until yesterday while waiting for my thesis groupmates so we could meet with our adviser. Planning to restart reading Book 4 tomorrow, just not in the mood to start right now.

Wow, I’m blogging again after so long! Sabi na nga ba pag may kailangan gawin dun ako masipag mag-blog eheheheh ^^0

So what else have I been up to? Hmmm, apart from getting finally fed up (somewhat) by that song (see preceding post) I managed to download some of the mp3s I’ve soooooo long been wanting to have a copy of; most of them are theme songs of anime series I’ve liked a while back but now don’t though their songs are nice so *shrug*, like I said, just wanted to have copies and it really isn’t worth getting the cds when I just like one or two songs out of the whole track list. Yeah, yeah, pirata ako so sue me (I really hope you don’t coz I don’t have any money! lolz)

Speaking of anime series, was able to be awake at around midnight last week and saw this series on WOWOW: “Shinigami no Ballad: Momo the Girl God of Death”. The OP theme just broke my heart and yes, I want a copy of it but it’s not that popular yet so no one’s hosting it (that I could find, baka meron sa mga irc downloads kaso tamad ako to look) yet. I like simple stories like these, yung bang heart-warming ones that just leave you feeling good?

The episode I managed to catch was about this girl named Chiaki whose mother died so she’s the one left doing the house chores her mother used to do. One of Chiaki’s chores was to make French toast for breakfast for her brother but she couldn’t get it right. Seems she couldn’t get a lot of other things right, and to complicate matters, she had this boy classmate who liked her but was too shy and insecure about herself to accept his court. One day, her brother told her a white-clad shinigami came to him and told him she’d be visiting them. Chiaki remembered that before her mother died, Chiaki heard her mom mumble something about a white-clad shinigami who had a cat with wings so she got worried that her brother was gonna die. But that wasn’t the reason why Momo (the Shinigami) was there. She indeed was the one who took Chiaki’s mom but she wasn’t there to get anyone. She was actually there to help Chiaki out, letting her have this dream where her mother taught her how to make French toast. The next day, Chiaki felt worlds better about herself. Gah, kinwento ko ng buo yung episode haahhaha!!!

Oh and Momo does have a black cat companion named Daniel. Daniel has bat wings but he looks adorable!!! A little bit like Luna from Sailormoon, without the crescent moon on his forehead of course, but still adorable and not as nagging as Luna could be.

I’ll wait till the series becomes a bit more known before looking for its OP theme, but I do wish there was more available pix about the series out on the web, want to use Momo as a basis for the blog layout I’m planning kaso ala pa ko mahanap na pic niya na high quality enough to use that I also like.

I’m tired of what my blog looks like! Balak ko sana nung una itong pic na to from HanaKimi yung gagamitin ko: It features Mizuki and Sano (nakatalikod), and I just love it kaso it looks too god-be-darned sappy and I’m not in a sappy-mood.

I’m also not in a drawing mood. Wanted to draw the illu characters but with a more realistic look; all for James-kun’s birthday, of course but none of them want to cooperate. I can’t get their looks right dang it! Not in the way I want to draw them anyway. Maybe when my muse hits me over the head and take control of my brain I’d do that, I really cannot force myself to draw. Thank god I’m no graphic artist or the like, I’m too moody!

Oh, btw… SJ Maas finally finished Book 2 of Queen of Glass. It’s another cliffhanger and she says she won’t update till May of this year at the earliest… waaaaah!!! I’m just so in love with that story! Read it please! See why I’m so vehement about people reading it. You won’t think the Maas is just a teenager the way she writes. And she started this story when she was around 15 or 16? Wow! Here’s a link to her story. Please, please, please read it! And please don’t let its 63 chapters daunt you, it’s really worth the time you’ll spend in reading all those long and sometimes not so lengthy chapters.

Okay, methinks this post is long enough to somewhat make up for the days of silence. I’ll stop rambling now ^__________^ Take care, y’all!

An Old New Song

Listening and trying to memorize Garnet Crow's Kimi no ie ni tsukumade zutto hashitteyuku.

It's been in my pc since 2001 and I've probably heard it countless of times since but only recently have I become obsessed with listening to it. I like the melody a lot; but what I like more about it is that it makes me feel as though I'm freefalling amongst clouds while inside a dream.

Here's a link to the lyrics. Sorry, dunno where to find the song in the net so you could listen to it too and I'm too lazy to upload it anywhere so you guys can download it heheh ^^0

I'm Soooo Bored...

I'm at a loss about what to blog. Several times during this week I've seen, read, experienced some things that would have been nice to post about but now that I'm in front of my pc, I can't seem to recall any of them nor even the thoughts I had of them. My mind's just blank. I hate not having anything worthwhile to do.

Yes, I am bored. We won't have our turn for the summer affiliation till April so I'm stuck at home doing nothing. Guess I can catch up on my reading or drawing or stuff but I just don't have the heart and will to do so. Am planning on reviewing the anatomy and physiology for our metabolism and fluids & electrolytes concept next semester, as well as studying pharmacology on my own and memorizing some of the more common meds and their nsg. considerations but I'm feeling too lethargic and lazy to start. *sigh*

Need a new hobby, preferably one that doesn't involve the computer and sitting coz I need exercise.

Hello

Oh yeah, I'm alive!!! Natapos rin finals! Whoo-whew! Actually, our final exams were last Monday and Tuesday, still have to pass the revised thesis proposal before the 13th. But I heard from Hazel we got the highest score in our section; coolness, ne? Heheh...

Had a migraine attack again yesterday, talagang vacations don't agree with me. Supposed to have enrolled yesterday kaso nga my head hurt sooo darn much again. Dunno what triggers my migraines. Guess I have to isolate whatever triggers the attacks so I can avoid them coz they hurt like hell.

Day before that I watched Aeon Flux. It was so-so... I didn't hate it, nor did I love it. Could live without watchting it. I like the idea that it sends, that it's better to live than to exist. But it's not that great a film. Saw the trailer for Pirates 2 again and I couldn't help but grin ear to ear... I loved the first movie so yeah, I am planning to watch the sequel.

Am rambling again, aren't I? Hay... I'm bored. Always a bad thing when I get bored.

thesis

Wooooow... what a HUGE relief that the panelists approved of our thesis proposal. Like Sieg said, kami lang ata yung group na lumabas dun sa conference room na tumatawa.

Our thesis is about the effects of videogames on nursing students' academic performance. Being a nursing student as well as a gamer, this topic's quite interesting for me and it's fortunate that our panelists seem to agree. They liked our proposal and didn't give us a hard time at all. They actually seemed impressed with us and eager to know what our findings will be. Kasi daw sobrang applicable sa mga students ngayon, they even told us about a student who fell asleep on duty coz he's hooked on playing ragnarok online.

Kaya ayun... whew! We were out of the conference room in less than 30 minutes, unlike the groups before us who took around an hour or more.

I'm excited to do the study, to perform the survey and get our data. We'll have to do it this coming summer during our affiliation so we'd have to just analyze the data during the first few weeks of the first semester so we'd have the thesis ready by July or August, for our defense.

I am just soooo glad my groupmates are Sieg, Hazel and Nhey. They're great groupmates coz not only do we all do the work equally but we also enjoy each other's company. Salamat na lang that our Research prof allowed us to pick our groups.
