We have four! Four! They were born the night of August 19; 3 males and one female. Decided to name them after the Weiss Kruez guys... coz Aya could be the name of a girl, I gave the name to the only female, the rest are Ken, Yohji and Omi ^_____^ They're sooooooooooo cute!! And small! They're just a few inches larger than my hand. And furry!!! And did I mention that they're soooo cute?! Lolz ^^
I'll try to post some pix of them when I find the time. Make that 'if' I find the time ^_^0
This week, our duty brought us back to the ward. I already miss being on duty in the DR/OR! I miss being in charge of neonates, the cute little buggers. I don't mind getting my scrub suit spotted with blood or meconium from the newborns... dunno why, I just feel refreshed and energized whenever I'm in charge of doing the cord care of newborns. Holding them and caring for them is so scary coz they're so fragile yet it's one of the best feelings in the world, holding such a small defenseless creature of God in your hands.
And don't start teasing me about my maternal instincts and about me having my own kid, I get enough of those comments from my RLE groupmates and parents, thank you very much. I don't plan to, anyways. At least not in the next 5 years or so ^_~
Been watching
Love Story in Harvard. Not on GMA7 though, I'm usually not awake at that hour to catch it when it airs there. My RLE group recommended series so I asked Roy to buy me a pirated DVD copy. (Yeah, I know. Illegal. Bad, Feifu. Baaaaad. Tsk tsk tsk..) For once the subtitles aren't a pain in the ass to read and I have to admit that though the plot can get a bit cheesy at certain parts the story in itself is good. I particularly like the healthy rivalry between Kim Hyun-woo and Alex Hong ^_^ Alex might be the main character's rival in career and love but he doesn't come off as a complete bastard and you'd actually feel sorry for him sometimes coz despite being a success he is so unhappy. I'm only on episode 10 so I don't know yet what'll happen to the characters. Roy said Hyun-woo and Su In would both get hospitalized at one point, but that they won't die and that they'll end up together or something. Not really interested in the ending. I just watch one episode a day (each episode takes about an hour) before I get back to my Med-Surg books. Haaay... still can't believe that the board exam's just 7 months away! The good thing about watching the series is that every time I do watch it and see the characters immersed in their studies I get encouraged to get back to studying.
Oh, to anyone of you who's interested in sampling/downloading Final Fantasy mp3s, FMVs, trailers, etc., you might wanna check out this link:
http://bluelaguna.net/I have the OST of FFVII, FFVII-AC, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX and FFX-2 on a constant repeat on my player everytime I hit the books. So if you come by our house at around 2 or 3 in the morning and hear those sounds, I'm probably awake studying and pissing off our neighbors with my choice of music and time of playing ^_______________^
I do occasionally use earphones, but having the music play so near my ears hurt and I couldn't really concentrate that way. I need background music or any kind of soft sounds when I study, so I usually play the instrumental songs I have (and I have a LOT) and drone out the sound whislt reading... funny thing is, you'd see me tapping a pen to the rhythm of whatever song's on play but this doesn't ruin my concentration somehow. Then when I take tests, whichever song I was listening to while studying comes back while I answer, and when a song plays in my head while taking tests I usually find the exam fairly easy.
Anyways, it feels nostalgic everytime I hear the songs from Final Fantasy, makes me wanna play the games all over again, but I don't have the time. I keep telling myself that I would do so, get back to my hobbies once the board exam's over and done with (I sure hope and pray that I pass the first time I take that thing!). Speaking of which, I'd better get back to reviewing! We have a unit test on fluids and electrolytes tomorrow; a reporting and quiz about kidney transplantation, peritoneal and hemodialysis, and cholelithiasis on Tuesday after our duty; and a pre-test on our Metab concept on Wednesday which includes diseases like PUD, GERD, GI bleeding, Cronh's Dse., etc... I still have to understand the pathophysiology of those diseases so... Ja ne!!! Wish me luck! ^_^
