The male and female side of a computer

Got this from a shared link by Paulo Coelho in plurk, just thought it was funny:

Top ten reasons why computers are male

10. They have a lot of data but are still clueless.

9. A better model is always just around the corner.

8. They look nice and shiny until you bring them home.

7. It is always necessary to have a backup.

6. They'll do whatever you say if you push the right buttons.

5. The best part of having either one is the games you can play.

4. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on.

3. The lights are on but nobody's home.

2. Big power surges knock them out for the night.

1. Size does matter.

Top ten reasons why computers are female

10. The instruction manual is mostly wishful thinking.

9. Even after you've turned them on, they just sit there waiting for you to make the next move.

8. Incorrectly worded commands are completely ignored, or worse, taken literally.

7. They reveal all your secrets to anyone who wants to know.

6. Upgrades react badly to things left behind by previous versions.

5. Rules are absolute and there is no possibility of compromise.

4. Whatever you buy for them, there will always be a newer version that they want.

3. Nothing is ever "really" deleted... obsolete files will be brought up out of nowhere just to annoy you.

2. Error messages always translate to: "Well if you don't know I'm not going to tell you."

1. Despite your best efforts to prevent it, they continue to permit unauthorised entry.

Is angry at Kishimoto

Darnit!

I refuse to believe Kakashi is dead. I won't believe it till I see his funeral.

The moment I see he's really dead I'll drop the whole Naruto fandom like a hot rock in the middle of the fricking ocean! I really really hate Kishimoto right now, more if he does away with one of the very few decent characters in Naruto. I hope Kakashi's just unconscious. I don't care if he gets in a coma for more than a year, just as long as he's fricking alive.

*is pissed off*

Jumping On The Bandwagon

Or in this case, more like grudgingly getting on the bandwagon.

I read Twilight.

^_____^0

Told myself I wouldn't read it unless 1) all the books are done and 2) all the hubbub about it was over. Well, at least I waited till all the books got out, but there couldn't be more furor about them coz of the movie coming out on my birthday no less *sweatdrop*

What I liked about it: (well just the first book. I'm in the middle of reading the 2nd right now)

- Bella's POV. I liked feeling getting dumped in the thick of things as Bella did. She didn't have a clue at times what was going on, not for lack of being observant and wanting to get in the know, and coz of that it was easy to relate to her. But I didn't fall in love with Edward *sheepish grin* I apparently don't like too-beautiful boys. Instead I'm curious about Jacob and Emmett (okay go ahead, you can laugh at me now), and no not as a couple! Heaven forbid! @_@

What I didn't like about it:

- Bella's POV. Mweheheheh... although I liked Bella, it just irked me sometimes that she missed so many things going on around her... not her fault, I know. But then, I would have liked to see Jasper and Emmett fight with James for one. Wonder how they'd adapted this in the movie? Hope they don't resort to Bella narrating what she's feeling. Her POV worked in the book but I dunno how it'll be in the movie. Guess I'll find out on the 26th.

I always get this reaction and it irks me to no end

I don't understand why people I've just met (at least here in the province) think I'm some sort of genius just because I wear eyeglasses! I have astigmatism and am nearsighted in one eye though I forgot which; so it's a necessity for me to wear my glasses, else I'd have a migraine in a few hours without them. Just because I wear them doesn't in anyway mean I'm smarter than the average person.

What I dislike more are the high expectations that seem to come with this impression. Sure I can be quite anal and want my work to be as perfect as I can make it, but that's because I don't want to regret not doing my best later on. It requires effort. And some people seem to just expect that being able to do so is just as easy as breathing for me so they pile up more work (supposedly theirs) for me to do. Grrrr! I hate that!

Obama has more threats than other presidents-elect

Tsk tsk tsk... so nothing's really changed, huh? Racism still rears its ugly head in America. I used to not have any interest about the US election, but the last one got my attention so much so that I actually watched CNN nonstop for the results. When Obama came out the winner and took that stage, I admittedly was holding my breath waiting if there was gonna be an assassination attempt and hoping that there wouldn't be one.

Back to the hospital tomorrow

But for IV therapy seminar and practicum. Coz I need to. It's actually illegal to administer IV meds and place an IV line on a client if nurses don't have an IV license. But JBLMRH allows their volunteers to do so coz of lack of staff. If a client's IV line becomes non-patent for whatever reason, we usually don't have enough time to wait for licensed people to replace it so we do it ourselves. That's why even though I already know how to, I'm still getting the license to protect myself.

Anyways, I still don't know what my NCLEX result is. Am crossing my fingers and praying that I passed. It was a rather difficult exam.

Belated Happy Birthday to Tito Toto!!!

We celebrated his birthday with a dinner party with close family friends last 06 Nov, and because of that we have a full ref filled with leftovers until now. Banaman, isipin niyo na lang 2 litson, noodles, fried rice, assorted maki/sushi and sashimi, shabu-shabu, tempura, and 4 other viands made of pork, fish, chicken and beef, 2 kinds of cakes, a bilao each of maja blanca and rice cake, assorted fruits, fudge brownies, buko pandan salad, kani salad, macaroni salad, almond-lychee gelatin... kahit na around 100 people yung dumating at kumain sobra-sobra pa rin yung food. I had my fill of tempura, sashimi, and maki to last me the rest of the year. And to think ang dami ng "nag-take out" ng food kahit na nakikain na sila wahahahahha!!!

I also went to a seminar about Forensic Nursing last Sunday. Quite informative. Makes me wanna study further about forensics and try to get a job related to it. Pero la pa daw kasi recognized training body pagdating sa forensics dito sa Pinas. Have to get trained in the US or other western countries. Sucks.

Have to renew my BLS training with the Red Cross. I'll try to go to the PNRC-Angeles Chapter sometime next week to inquire about it. Paso na kasi yung BLS ko.

Speaking of Red Cross, I kinda want to try applying for the "national field representative" position they have for hire at their website. Mom disagrees with it vehemently coz the job description would entail me to be stationed at different provincial areas and most likely sent to disaster areas as well if there's a need for people there. I told them I'm just gonna try and apply. I'll read the contract properly and consider the risks and cons before I sign anything, but mom is adamant about me not even trying. Wag na lang daw akong magtrabaho if dun ako magtratrabaho. Haaaaaaaaaaaaay... I understand her; she's just worried for my safety. But it's also my life and my choice, right?

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.
