The Guys' Rules (stolen from Ate Tet's Friendster blog)

(which reminds me, I have to add her to the friends list on the side bar)

The Guys' Rules

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down.
Finally, the guys' side of the story. (I must admit, it's pretty good.)
We always hear "the rules" from the female side.
Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are "their" rules!
Please note: these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And NO, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly ACCEPTABLE answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only IF you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't EXPECT us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something OR tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, PLEASE say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will BE scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine...Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or golf.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; but did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

(To all men...LAUGH HARD. To all women...LAUGH HARDER.)

Still About Snape

FOund this essay: "Dumbledore vivens Snapeque bonamicus" by Denis Howarth which tries (and I think succeeds) to explain Snape's actions.

Ah, jeez... I hate feeling guilty about being unfair to a fricking book character -_-0

A Change of Mind

*Sigh*

Okay. Fine. I recant what I said about Snape in my previous post. The author side of me just refuses (and is btw, throwing a huge tantrum inside my head) to agree with my unthinking-just-feel-what-the-main-character-is-feeling reader side.

I don’t hate Snape.

In fact, whenever I watch the movies I get this smirk and feeling of pride whenever Snape comes on screen. Eeek. I did not just write that…

Don’t get me wrong; he’s not exactly my most favorite character in the HPverse, but he’s near the top of the list.

Okay, fine, he’s probably in the top five. (with George and Fred Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Oliver Wood, and... and... ah shoot! Okay, fine. He IS in the fricking top five of my cruddy list!)

Only because I like how he’s such a complex character. I think JKRowling did a splendid job creating Snape; because even though he’s so hard to like, you can’t help but do so if you consider all of his qualities and history.

I love his duplicity, how you can never be sure of what he’ll do, but know that even though he’d hate doing something that would help Harry and his friends, he’d still do it for the sake of the common good. Gah... I am not making any bloody sense!

It’s funny, no hilarious even, how he keeps Harry and all the kids he teaches on their toes. I’d have probably loved having him as my professor in Chemistry (that’s the closest subject IRL to Potions, ne?). Of course I would’ve ranted and raved against him for being a slave driver and unfair and showing favoritism, but then I still would’ve probably ranked him as one of the best professors and if asked if I’d like to have him teach me again I’d probably answer with a resounding ‘Yes! Of course, any time!’ without even batting an eyelash or considering the hard work involved.

And I love his dry sarcastic wit. And that he’s probably a genius in his own right. Heck, he IS a genius, and even Harry would agree if he wasn’t so pissed-off and in a red rage to kill Snape on sight. Severus is the Half Blood Prince, after all.

*sighs again*

There.

Like I said, I don’t hate Snape. Okay?!

*grumbles at self*

Jeez, I fricking can’t sleep because of this?!?! I have early hospital duty tomorrow. Wait, scratch that. Today! Darn it! Can you believe I actually got up from bed just to type this stupid post?! Yeeesh…

What Have I Been Doing?

I really need to get out of the house today so I can have my semestral U/A, F/A, CXR, pregnancy and drug test done. All are requirements before enrollment for the 2nd semester. Should've gone last week but I'm too lazy to go out of the house *sigh*

Mom and I ended up not going to Manila today coz she had a meeting to go to at work. Gomen, Ana-nechan. I couldn't bring the costume you were going to borrow.

So what have I been doing during the weekend? Hmmm...

1. Finished watching Full Metal Alchemist till episode 51, as well as the movie: The Conqueror of Shambala. Mustang didn't die! Yehey! And Hughes is alive in the alternate world! Double yehey!!! ^_______^ Nevermind that he's a torpe Nazi soldier, at least that idiot's alive, right? Right!?! Although I'm becoming a MustangxWinry-shipper. Somewhat. I mean, with Ed and Al gone Winry's up for grabs, right? And Mustand and Winry need to work out their past as well. Wonder if there are any fanfics out there yet about those two? Will check later. There are probably more of him and Hawkeye.

2. Finished reading Harry Potter 6: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. One thing I can say is that I've actually read better written fanfiction of the HP fandom. It's not as funny as the first two or so book. But then I guess that should be expected considering the plot's getting more serious. I guess that learning beforehand that Dumbledore was gonna die spoiled the whole book for me. Ah well. It's just stupid, what he and Harry did. So pointless considering the outcome. I still dislike Snape with a vengeance, and I still think there's hope for Draco. The poor sod was only trying to save his own hide and his mom's, so couldn't really fault him there, could I? Sides... he's one of my favorites in the HPverse; along with Fred and George, and Oliver Wood ^_____^

3. Watching Tsubasa Chronicles (series). I still have to finish downloading all of the episodes. I only have till 9 so far and have watched till episode 3.

It's nostalgic to see the various CLAMP characters. Makes me wanna re-read and rewatch all the other series the characters have come from, especially CCS. *le sigh* Grown up Syaoran is kawaii hehehehe ^_______^ Just wished the character design didn't look so, umn... flat. I miss the 'roundness' they had in CCS heheh ^^0 Well at least it's better than that XXXholic movie I managed to catch in WOWOW some time back. And I still can't adjust to Mokona talking, este being coherent unlike in MKR where all that it/she/he could say was Puu in that uber cute though at time irritating voice.

4. Just updated myself with the most recent scanlation of the Naruto manga. Sarutobi Asuma-sensei died!!!! Dammit! Poor Shika! The most recent chapter (328) and the chapters preceding that one had Izumo, Kotetsu, Shikamaru and Asuma fighting two Akatsuki members, Kakuzu and Hidan. Dang. To think next to Kakashi I liked Asuma and he up and gets killed. Dang it! Well at least Shika, Kiba, Jiraiya, Kakashi and Orochimaru are still alive. What? You're wondering why I actually like Orochimaru? Come on, without that snake the plot would be a lot less interesting.

And although I hate his guts, I love the way the illustrators changed the way Sasuke looks now.

Here's a close up pic:

He's waaaaay easier on the eyes than Naruto (and hell of a lot taller), but I absolutely HATE his personality. Just wish they'd finally show Kakashi's face. This is the closest they've revealed it so far in canon:

5. Almost through with watching My Girl with mom. We're at episode... umn... which was it again? Oh, 14 I think. Kawawa yung character ni Lee Jun Ki!!! I dunno what his name is in the Tagalog dubbed version though. Haaay... unrequited love is just painful to watch, ne?

I'm updating coz someone asked me why I haven't

Guids asked why I haven't updated in a while, told him coz I was too lazy to update and that I didn't know what to write here. While those reasons are true, you can also add that we just had our finals yesterday so I've been burying myself amongst super-heavy and around 4-inches thick Medical Surgical books.

Our final exam was yesterday. Dunno which of the two tests was harder coz although the lab questions seemed harder I finished it in less time it took me to answer the lecture exam. Haaaaaaaaay... hope I pass coz those tests are times two -_-0

Been watching Full Metal Alchemist since yesterday after the finals. So far I'm only in episode 29. Waaaaaaaaah!!! My favorite character fricking died!!! (Thank you, Ana-nechan for not spoiling that for me.) *sniff sob* How could that idiotic clown die?!! Damn him for being the smug SOB that he was, dang it! He made me shed one, take note one, measly tear when he died. Stupid git, I wanted to kick him for dying. Of course that was probably quite an unusual reaction to someone's death - nevermind that it's a anime character that I'm talking about. *sigh* Nabawasan tuloy yung comic relief sa series.

Haaaay... my second fave is another smug SOB. Roy Mustang (he's the black-haired guy in the pic). Seeing as he hasn't died in the episode where I'm currently at, I'm hoping he lasts till the last episode. Not that I dislike Ed and Al, they're okay as the main protagonists, but they're just not my favorites like Hughes and Mustang.

Why am I only now talking about this series? Coz although it was shown in GMA7, because of my sched I could never catch it in a regular basis. Was probably able to watch three or so episodes of it. *shrug* Always thought about buying my own copy of it or just reading the manga if I could find copies of either; since I got my hands on the DVD first it's the one I ended up going with. That and a copy of Bleach, Kyou Kara Maou, Macross Plus, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and Gundam Seed. Pirated of course, so hush hush about it and don't report me to the police k? ^_~

Oh! I've also bought mom copies of Korean/Chinese telenovelas so if I'm not watching the anime I'll probably be watching those. She's watching My Girl right now though, so far it seems funny. I like this guy: I keep thinking he'd make a good David or Russell if Ana ever manages to have Illusion turned into a liveaction series hehehe ^_______^ Mom says he looks like a girl, I agree mwahahahahah! But there are scenes when he looks very manly as well so I really think he'll do well as our David. I dunno if Ana or Seika will agree with me on that though. I said he'd do okay as Russell too coz from what I've seen of the show his character's a lot like Rushkins. Speaking of which, wonder when Ana-nechan'll update Illu? *hinthintnudgenudge* And I love the soundtrack of this series, espicially Track 2 of the OST, Never Say Goodbye sung by Mario&Nesty. You can find the OST here.

And I went swimming pala with my RLE groupmates last Saturday. It was after our last hospital duty together as a group. Heard the office was going to reshuffle the sections and groupings next semester. Too bad, that. I really like my groupmates now. Anyways, here are some of the pix from that day.

Back row from left to right: Nhey, Lucy, Yang, My, Karla, Roy, and yours truly
Front row right to left are: Diana, Cute, Vina, Hazel, Tel, Dennis, Mitchie, Nadine, and Mirra. This is was taken just before we were going home.

I'm not in this pic coz I was at the other end of the pool hehehe ^^ Anyways, from left to right are Francis, Dennis, Mirra, Nadine, Mitchie, Lucy, and Nicky.

Hmmm... I think this post is sufficiently long, ne Guids? Heheh ^^ Ayan a! Nag-update na po ako.

Hmmm...

Okay. The Smart people came today to install the net connection. I kinda miss the hassle and long wait the dial up connection brought along with it. Not. Lolz ^_^ This is nice. Not that I didn't expect the connection to be this fast. Having that boost in its RAM really does help a lot. Now I only need to blink for an image heavy page to load.

Anyways, our PLDT landline number's gonna get disconnected this coming Tuesday, so like I said in my previous post, please erase that number if you have it.

May nagnakaw kay Omi!!! *waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh*

We gave him to one of my cousins and she fricking lost little Omi! Okay, it wasn't entirely my cousin's fault that Omi got out of their gate - hey I did warn her that puppy's wily when it comes to finding ways to get out of places - but still... She should've made sure Omi was safe. Safe and away from the clutches of young bottle sellers/buyers (magbobote) interested in taking away not just one's empty unused bottles but also one's pet puppy. Anyways, we have no idea what the kid who took Omi looks like. I just hope that fricking brat takes care of the puppy he stole. *grumble grumble*

Aya was given to Lola Ising. Her whole household just loves that cute little butterball of a puppy. So much so that Lola's grandchildren even take little Aya to bed to sleep next to them.

Ken and Yohji are staying here with us and are creating one hell of a mess each morning what with the piles of you-know-whats as well as freshly dug up earth right smack in the middle of the garden in front of the house ruining the grass and other vegetation. Mom got a bit pissed off with them when they pulled out the pandan and aloe vera she had planted at our back garden. But in spite of that, I still think they're just adorable. Too bad I haven't found the time to take a picture of them yet...

Genrou got upgraded

Just a bit. With an additional 80GB harddisk (he only had 40GB before, which I will now use as a backup drive for storing files) and 512MB RAM (previously only 256MB).

He has ziltch in files now though as he got reformatted as well. Good thing I back up my files; I sure hope those cds are functional.

It cost me 6400php to buy the parts at Silicon Valley and an additional of 1000php to have him serviced at home *sigh*. Ang mahal naman...

He STILL has no speakers on him though. I think I’d never be able to buy this desktop his own set of vocal cords. Poor thing is mute ahahahha ^^0

At least he’s faster now. And more importantly, he doesn’t have any viruses and doesn’t hang on me at the most inappropriate of times *whew*

Oh! And I’ve finally applied to Smart Bro for their Wifi connection, so... *shrug* additional fees, but then at least it’s unlimited and I don’t have to gnash my teeth together every time it rains coz I lose my landline’s dialtone during those times without fail. Grrrrrr! Stupid PLDT! I'm gonna have that line disconnected as soon as the wifi connection's installed. Why? Coz I don't bleeding need a phone line that goes AWOL every time I need to use it, that's why. Gawds, even Mom's fed up with complaining about that line so away it'll go in a few weeks time. So ditch the pldt landline number I gave you guys before, k?

Hmmm, what else? Nothing much. School wise: we don't have class from Mon to Wed coz our profs are at Baguio for their retreat. Ms. Vital our CI for Thurs needs to go somewhere so our group doesn't have duty on that day as well. I'll only need to come in for Friday and Saturday.

BTW, Guids... remember the dream I told you about with you and Cy? Natuloy the other day. You guys were looking for a person daw. Didn't get the name, but it seemed very important that you find him/her. YOu two ended up fighting and parting ways coz you couldn't agree which way to go. I woke up when you were both screaming at each other. Bad dream, that, ne?

Ana-nechan: How're the kakasaku fics? Read any yet?
